I just wanted to give you all a quick update on the projects at The On30 Guy™ shop.
First, I debuted a prototype of the the new throttle at the Midwest Narrow Gauge Show in Salem this past weekend. It was very well received, and I’m eagerly anticipating its actual release. In testing, we found an error in the circuit boards, and had to have the entire run re-made.
I also showed off the new boxcar kits. They, too, were a kit, and I actually have a few in stock. They’ll be available for ordering as soon as I get the assembly guide written. I promise by the weekend at the latest, because I really want for you to be able to order these things! They’re fantastic kits, that really almost fall together.
Boxcar kits will be available unpainted, pre-painted and lettered for Bridgeton & Saco River (#47, 48, and 49), or custom painted for your railroad (minimum quantities apply)!
Eagle-eyed visitors will notice a couple of new products in the shop already. Since the announcement from Grandt Line, the availability of certain key parts is in question. Most of the detail parts needed for the kit are also available from Tichy, but the kit was designed to use Grandt’s On2 SR&RL trucks frames. I will be ordering as many of those as I can, but of course, I’ve also developed a “plan B”. I’ve arranged to be able to carry Bachmann’s excellent 29904 low-profile trucks, and with the help of Kevin at Berrett Hill, I’ve got an adapter that will mount those trucks in place of the Grandt Line. The adapters are included in the boxcar kits.
So, that’s it for now. Much to do! But, I thought you’d want an update.
