I’ve been fielding questions from enough people about the status of the improved throttle kit that I mentioned back in November (and, I’m sure, several times prior) that I thought I probably ought to give you all an update. Early this week, I approved the design for the “motherboard” for my new, DelTang-compatible throttle kit. Yes, it’s been months in the making, but frankly, with the investment involved in this project, both in time and money, we really wanted to get it right on the first attempt.
I think we’ve succeeded on that score, and I now get to move on to the next phase of the project: finalizing the front panel layouts, and acquiring the various sub-assemblies that will go into the kit.
Here are a few key features of the new kit:
- Compatible with all current DelTang receivers intended for model train use.
- Super-easy plug-and-play assembly.
- Rechargeable battery.
- Pre-drilled face plate with custom printed overlay.
- Trim, ergonomic design.
- Uses our Really Cool Knobs.
- High-quality toggle switches and custom push-buttons.
Back in November, I mentioned that I was expecting to be able to roll these out in the first quarter of this year, and so far, it looks like I’ll be able to maintain that schedule — at least in small quantities. Look for pricing to be set in the next 3-4 weeks.
